Default Multi-way driver choice

Hi All

Which driver manufacturers' products are worth investigating for 2-way bookshelf type speakers?

It is a fairly long list. My choice would be the better quality manufacturers; spend as much as you can on the best drivers with the flattest and most extended frequency response AND then go active.
