Default revelator tower

Just finished 1 of pair of ZAPH ZRTs .I'm thrilled so far- very hard to stop listening to just one and complete the 2nd. I used premium x-over parts and "Purebond" hardwood plywood. Veneered with premium sequenced walnut using "HeatLock" glue.
The bass extension, tunefulness, heft, is wonderful. Treble is sweet, very detailed, definetly "revelatory" with Bryston 3Bsst, BP-26, BCD-1. This speaker to me is a great bargain. Much better than my former Dynaudio Contour 3.0s and Maggie 3.6Rs(except in soundstage size) IMO.
Way well worth the time ,effort, money. Thank you J. Krutke.
Regards, tom.

Congratulations! Those are looking very well made. Also, I like the rounded edges.

All in all, who would spend money on dynaudio or any other known low efficiency speaker brand when you have these woodworking skills?

Enjoy them !

Looks really great.

Can you describe the veneer process a bit? First where did you get the walnut veneer? Did you have any problems with the roundover? Did you use one piece spanning the left, front, and right sides?

hi clagon. I ordered veneer from www.oakwoodveneer.com and the HeatLock glue from www.veneersupplies.com . Turns out 1 4'x8' sheet was enough to complete the pair. I ordered 2 since I wasn't sure. The extra sheet is good in case of mistakes or for use on the next project. The roundovers were done with 3/4" router bit-no problem. All panels were rough cut with jigsaw then precision cut with straight router bit. All cut-outs were done AFTER veneering- x-overs and wires were already in-place for connecting to drivers and binding posts.. YES-used 1 piece veneer for left, front, and right side.
Using HeatLock was a pleasure. I used a smooth paint-roller to apply even to veneer back and panel - let dry then place veneer on panel and iron on the veneer with a regular clothes iron(this activates the bond). They suggest practice with a scrap piece first.
