Default Peerless 830883 damage from shipment (impedance plot)

I recently received a couple of peerless 830883 but the packet was poorly prepared, with insufficient packaging: the drivers were only wrapped in cardboard, and could freely move inside the packet. On the cardboard there are signs of the small plastic things that go in the screw holes AND of the phase plug, so I think that the driver got a a bump. I don't see any obvious damage on the outside of the speakers though.
I only did a impedance plot. It seems me a bit rough, so I would like to know if this plot is normal or not.
Thanks in advance,
Ralf

If you've got a mic run a distortion sweep in Steps, that'd be more telling then anything else. The impedance looks fine to me.

If the driver seems undamaged, ie phase plug not knocked off centre, has no rubbing or doesn't produce any odd rattling noises when driven at Xmax. Then I'd be tempted to say you got lucky, perhaps very lucky, for the phase plugs to have left a dent like that in the cardboard it's my guess that the driver must have been thrown or at least dropped from a decent height.

I would however send an email to wherever you purchased them from and tell them how poor the packaging was.

in principle it should be no problem that the phase plug stamps a mark in the cardboard. its relatively solid with no obvious direct connection to the voice coil. try pressing gently against it and you will see its massively manufactured.
anyway, the dealer should take bigger cases for shipping.
