Default I`m a newbie and need help with a peavey monitor

I have a peavey active monitor that I want to use to monitor bass guitar on gigs.
But my problem is that it "goes bananas" when it gets to loud. It just hangs up and I have to turn it off to get rid of it.
So it`s obvious that it`s to weak to handle it..

But is there any way I can mod it?
To just buy a better monitor would of course be better.
But I am a little short on cash right now because I bought this http://www.sequencer.de/pix/orgel/philicorda

What do I have to switch inside it?
I have a friend that is good with electronics so he can help me.

Would be awesome if someone had some input!

You will have to give us something to chew on like a schematic, or at the very least the model number. Pictures are always good, oh and a more complete description of the setup. Lots of folks are willing to lend a hand.

Of course

I think it`s the previous version of the Peavey 112PM. The one I have is without eq.
The monitor is in our rehearsal room and I will give an exact description tomorrow.

It looks something like this.

Unfortunately I have no schematics..

How much and what do I have to do with it (and pay) to make it more powerfull?

Thank you so much!

it's only 75 watts, not enough for bass guitar - and the reviews confirm this.
Don't muck around trying to modify it, that would be more expensive than replacing it. Get rid of it and get something more appropriate for the application.
