I found this italian manufacturer, employing a 15 coaxial with a 3" compression driver. No this is looking very interesting as I haven't seen any similar coaxial before.
I am almost sure it's not 18Sound or Ciare, the two major italian speaker producers. Any thoughts on this? ![]() Specifications |

Looks nice enough.
The 3" for the CD is almost certainly diaphragm size so 1.4 or 1.5" throat. |

The cabinet looks too small for 99dB/w at 30Hz...
Any opinions on this?

The cab looks like it has a nice finish.
If I'd buy/make something with a coax compoment the mids and high (unity horn or BMS coax) would be the coax component, not the low and high. The coax could perhaps be a modded version of the B&C 15CXN76. Don't know any other driver with such a big HF component. |

Many Coax's have 3" drivers. We usually refer to the size of the exit rather than the diaphragm, hence the confusion.

To be complete; I couldn't find a lot of 15" / 3" Diaphragm coax'es currently available, the one I mentioned has a 3" dia, no info on mouth exit mentioned. Curious to see what 'this' driver will actually be.

Reminds me of the 12" Coaxial in the new Tannoy top of the range speaker (can't remember the name of it)

In principle it reminds me of any Tannoy DC made in the last 50 or so years.
It looks like a cross between a Glenair and a TD12. |

In fact, the only 3" exit driver that seems to be uot ther is the JBL 2490H? :S
What could this coax be or do they mean 3" dia in their specs?... |

Yes, maybe a super-tweeter (Fostex?). The same problem, here, with Tannoy Dimension TD12.
