It happened again... my sealed/ported/10inch/8inch/ported/passive radiator/infinite baffle speaker boxes thingy continues.... with tmy 2 8inch Peerless mounted in the 50 litre box that used to contain the 10inch... and.. one rather LARGE port.....

I'll post a few pictures here, then give links to the rest... (its much nicer on people why have to pay per meg or have modem.. :))

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I don't know - turn it round and use the port as a stand - give it a lick of paint and ...

Personally, I quite like the Aussie neo-grunge look. Good luck to you SkinnyBoy.

Its supposed to look like that... :) no paint... and its not perminant anyway... lol only for a few a few months... till I finish my towers.. :)

Anyway, the sound's the thing, SB. Please tell us that the sound's the thing.

You think I made this thing for LOOKS!!! or for its compact size!?!?! I can't even lift the thing on my own... too heavy and too awkward... sound might be the thing.. it sounds alright.... but each woofer is effectivly only getting 25litres... pretty small... so the bass isn't that low... lol its alright though.. :) showed me that the 850136 woofers would do pretty well in a 25 litre ported.. lol :D

So, what you're saying is that you didn't design it for its looks or compact size, it's a pig to move and, although it's a bass speaker, the bass doesn't go very low.

Have you considered marketing it?

Unbridled Creativity!

When you do have the funds to do things the "correct" way, I hope that will not inhibit your creativity.

I also hope that your family doesn’t get too uptight about you busting up the furniture to make speaking cabinets.

How bought seeing if you and your friends can come up with a couple of empty beer kegs to load with drivers? Might not be too acoustic, but you could resell them pretty easy.

I made it so I could hear the Peerless drivers in a "proper" enclusure...

Well, look on the bright side. After you build your nifty looking towers with these drivers and post the pics, everyone will forget all about this. :) :)

I don't care what people think.... lol I will hopefully post pictures of the towers.. when they are done.. :) I was hoping to do high gloss WHITE, piano finish.. :)

I didn't "bust up" any furnature.. :p the australian oak was 2 pieces that were just lying around... (one was out in the waether and all messed up, and other was "recycled" and had a few holes drilled in it...)

i just like the back-to-front amp. man if i lived alone i would have all my equipment with the wires coming out the front. like an old telephone switchboard.

'one ringy-dingy...'

/andrew - appreciating the DIY passion

The sides of the port are pine.... the port weighs more than the box.... and if the amp wasn'ty sitting there, it would flip up.. lol :D
The amp is backwards... cos... how can you say its backwards? I wouldn't really say this box had a front or back... :p I had to have it like this so I could connect the wires to it... :p its on a slope and it would have been too hard had I put it around the other way.. :D
