Hello guys!. Was wondering if someone here tried those?.
I built a 2 way with some D6G's and Morel tweets and i must say i'm verry happy with the results!. In the Hi-Vi specs, they seem to point out that it's a bass reflex suitable driver but, when i enter it's parameters in BassBox6, it points to "full air suspension"... I think the D10G is a valuable woofer but, no feedback on it at all. I have in mind a match with the new Dayton Audio flat, fibre 12inch passives (ns series" if memory serves me right) Thanks guys |

Sorry to ignore you.
The Qts is a good and quick way to determine where a particular driver should be installed. Generally, a low Qts (Qts of .2 to .5) are suitable for a vented enclosure. The woofer you cited has a Qts of .44, which is getting near the upper end of the ideal for a vented enclosure. In fact, the specification sheet at Parts Express seems to recommend a sealed box of 75 liters. You could still choose a vented enclosure and the parameters say it can float either way. Just be sure you entered all the parameters correctly and have the right units. Also, BassBox Pro is really fun and easy to use, but it really leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to giving you useful information. I would not know if you could trust it for aperiodic design work and I never ventured into such a design. The real way to do this is to measure the T/S parameters yourself and then take frequency measurements on and off axis. This data should be entered into BassBox Pro so that you can get a better idea of what really happens. There are also better tools than BssBox Po for this job. |

Thanks Loren42!. Bassbox pro does give me a rough response ( seems like a too high
resonance from the passive)... I still have a lot to "R&D" to do on this... I want to buid a "D'appolito" passive, w m t m w p if you see what i mean, (twin woofers/ passives), in 3 separated enclosures, stacked together. Was just wondering if someone had tried those D10G woofers. |

No. I have no experience with them, but sounds like an interesting project. You should have your hands full!
