Default Finally finished 3-Way Dayton/HiVi/Visaton setup

Hi Chaps,

Couldn't've finished it a day too soon. I picked up this project to keep me amused while searching for work - I screwed in the final screw on Tuesday and was called to work on Wednesday morning...to be in by 1pm! eek!

Anyhow - I have documented the progress on the link below. Preliminary runs went very well, the HiVi B3N really coming out of its shell with some hard playing. I don't notice it being 'shouty' or forward, and with current speaker placement, BSC is for the moment a non-issue. The tweeters though (Visaton DTW-72) needed a little attenuation to bring them in line with the rest of the system.

Being TLs, there is quite some bass, right where I wanted - 30Hz and up, very strong in the 40-60Hz range. The room is very live though, and will need to be compensated for with some bass traps behind my listening position/in the corners.
Given that we've just found woodworm in the floor, I think we'll be off within the month to find a newer/nicer place. I didn't build the cabs wonky...the house is literally falling down about our ears.

Here be dragons

After two weeks of playing in, all is going very well - if I was to go again, I might pick something a wee bit more efficient than the B3N, but it's hard to beat its transparency for the sheer price and padding down the over-shouty tweeter really helped to level things out.
My fiancée is cooking up plans to paint them rather ornately - watch this space!

That's a given. Will be moving next week, so a chance to finally finish the cosmetics.
