I've been looking at these for some time now.

Although apparently cheap, their spec is pretty good and they don't need a big box to get decent bass.

For 8" drivers, they seem to be excellent.

I've been debating a speaker like the Infinity Beta model, with 6 of these per box, each with it's own 100W amp, plus midrange and Piezo Tweeters up to 30kHz+

Obviously, electronic crossovers.

I use 2x 10" skytronic pp cone "chassis speaker" as my subwoofers in large closed boxes, they work very well with some electronic EQ. Disadvantage of using such cheap speakers was the need for larger enclosures for a given SPL as the xmax isn't great both my subs messure almost identical to my simulations so I'm not noticing any problems with the manufacturing tolerances. In the uk skytronic drivers are used in alot of budget PA gear and car audio installs, cricklewood electronics (London) in particular apeared to have massive stocks of them.

Years ago I built a pair of isobaric active speakers with original B200 KEFS died and could not replace. These worked with scan speak tweeters. I took a risk and bough 4 of the skytec 8 inch speakers as an experiment to replace the B200's

Two per box working in parallel. Heavy sand filled boxes.

Driven by a 24 db active crossover and 150 watt pch mosfet amplifier.

Results were stunning and comparable to units I had paid much more for.

Bass is spectacular and deep. Sensitivity is lower than B200 but easy to adjust with active cross over.

I now use for my home cinema and enjoy listening to them.

I think they are fantastic value for money.

Skytronic range

they are amazing, i use them in most hi-fi replacement, the blue looks amazing.
the speaker cone, suspension, magnet and coil are really good.
I run them on the hq hifi oldies like nad, marantz, quad, arcam, M.Fidelity....and they are highly recommended.
