Advice on Mid driver needed

Hi,

I'm preparing for my next speakers, already have a set of NOS JBL 2235H 15" Bass Units I picked on ebay some years ago and a set of NOS JBL 2404H Biradial Horns I picked up form a JBL sale some years ago.

But I need a mid driver to match, right now I'm considering PHL 1660 6.5" Mid Drivers, but would really like some suggestion on what great mid drivers there are out there....

Flexible on sensitivity as I will use an active crossover, but it need to be powerful...

The 2404 is going to be your limiting driver of what you have. You are going to want a mid that goes up over 3K. You might want to look at the 8" JBL 2118 as used in the 4612 system.

With your JBL picks (all great choices) the best mid would be the biradial horn 2344a. It can run down to 900hz, and can be run up to 12.5k comfortably. It is the same "baby butt" style as your 2404, 100 degree dispersion.

If you wanted a midbass to fill in between your woofer, the jbl 2206, or TAD 1201 would do the job admirably well. Both are 12", both play load and are great drivers. You can run them from about 200-300 up to 900/1000
