ns-b2111 speakers, has anyone tried different drivers?

I saw these on the shelf the other day and I remembered that there was a time everyone was talking about these speakers. What I can't find any info on is if anyone tried using a different driver in the same enclosures. Did anyone try to put a C16N001/F or Fostex full range driver in these enclosures to see how they would perform?

I would have thought that with all the buzz around this I would have had a response by now. No one tried this at all?
