Best Configuration for 2 twelve's ?
I'm all ears as far as suggestions. Here's the given thus far: It's a 4 way system. Infinite Baffle Bass x'd below 60 Hz. Above 250 Hz, and up until 2500
is an open baffle system with 2 audax pro 7 inchers flanking a high power ribbon. Said midrange may indeed be augmented by another sealed/and/ or/ bi-pole (not to be confused with the 7's in a di-pole) placed at the very top of the MTM array to help with the lower range, because there will probably be some front/ back cancellation of the open baffle drivers as they near the 250 Hz area. I wanted to give enough info because I can not decide which is the best configuration for the remaining range of 60- 250 Hz assigned to 2 12's per channel. The driver(s) are the Eminence 4012 HO. Either side by side in a low boy vented enclosure, or, in a front to back arrangement, each driver in it's own vented enclosure (again) but with the magnets mechanically coupled to take advantage of the vibration reaction-cancelling effects. The distance to the front wall (behind the speakers) is about 4 feet from the wavelaunch plane. The main objective of this system is clarity, and outstanding dynamics. I should also mention each of the four sections is crossed electronically and obviously driven by it's own dedicated amplifier section. Thanks for any ideas !
