Hi I just ordered some Boston A40 series ll, but they are missing the woofers. They are supposed to be 6 1/2 but I am reading elsewhere that they are 6.875. Would 7'' fit? anyone know where I could find some that would fit with minimal mods?

Does anyone know, since 6 1/2 woofers are too small, how to make 6 1/2 woofers fit, into a cutout that is roughly 3/4 inch too large? or should I just buy 7's

or it may even better with an 8 inch woofer with a 3 ohm Resistor in series
With the hole made bigger to 7.2 Silver Flute W20RC38-04 ohm 8" Wool Cone from Madisound 1. find 7" speakers that have the needed characteristic to match you tweeter 2. Slight enlarge the hole, but it should be very close using a small drum sander on a drill, even 7 inch many are still small or In order for going the other way you would have to make a whole new front baffle unless you are good with metal working for the wood would be to weak with a 3/8 of inch or less area to hand the screws and would split. |
