We are currently organizing cabinets for the new Seas Idunn Kit, the thor, odin and mimir, along with other kits we offer. Here is the idunn in cherry finish with a black baffle. Cabinets are professionally made by a loudspeaker cabinet manufacturer. The photos arent very good, and we will upload better ones soon! Let us know what you think. Click here for more info on the idunn.

Very nice job there. What are the highlights/lowlights of the design in your opinion?

Thank you for the compliments
I am not quite finished with the painting yet. I will add a motive of the viking goddess Idunn. This will however not be added very soon. Highlights: Very good dispearsion: linear FR even at 60* off-axis, impressive. Very low distortion. Good crossover: simple, yet very effective. I like the smooth roll-off bass response. not too many BR designs does that. The u18rnx/p handles large excursion with ease. 14mm x-max, 22mm x-mech. Very natural sound. The drivers look cool and modern. Norwegian drivers... Lowlights: Not really, considering the price. I paid 3500nok(1american dollar=6-7nok). Mabe a bit low sensitivity, but you cant really expect much more from a ralatively small 2-way speaker. I will say this though; if I where building this kit today i would probably make them smaller, with less internal volume and higher BR tuning(mabe 60-70hz). Just too get more "punch" in the mid-bass, this is only a reflection of my personal taste and because i use them together with a sub-woofer. However, as standalone speakers i recommend maintaining the original volume and design. Comparing them to my PSB T65 they sound more "hifi" correct, and a bit cleaner. they also illuminate the room much more uniformly. A little less "dynamic"(hard to explain). Just remember too build very rigid boxes, since that is pretty much the only thing coloring the sound from this kit. I am at least very glad I used internal bracing in the mdf box. Here is a link showing the construction proses: Its all inn Norwegian, but theres a lot of pictures http://avforum.no/forum/diy-do-yours...ygge-logg.html Thank you SEAS for a wonderful sounding pair of speakers Last edited by urkain87; 6th October 2010 at 04:09 PM.
