Default crossover attenuation

I'm going for ready made two-way crossover available locally for my isobaric 4 inchers. The tweeters are Indian Peerless soft-dome ones. The response so far is good except that the tweeters are too bright compared to woofers. since I dont have any data on the drivers and the box size was determined by trail and error.
Is there any way I can measure only the existing crossover(2nd order) and determine values for a L-pad circuit. The attenuation is needed on the tweeter. Thanks in advance

Just stick an L-Pad in between the tweeter and the crossover. Then adjust the L-Pad for the desired level. Then measure the L-Pad and substitute fixed resistors instead.
