Dont know if this is the right place to post this, but here it goes.
My friend recently upgraded his HT and gave me his old floor standing sony speakers(yea i know they were free tho) the model is Sony SS F6000 it has them listed as a 4 way speake, however they do not have a crossover, and i have been trying to find a 4 way crossover, but can only seem to find 2 or 3 ways, would a 3 way work? or is there a way to make a 4 way crossover ? Anyway thanks for anyhelp! i'm about 2 days new into speakers so please excuse my ignorance. |

It is very unlikely they don't have an XO. Pictures?

Looks like it is probably a 3.5-way speaker.
There is likely a minimum of 1 inductor & 2 caps in the crossover. You'll need to pop the drivers out and look inside. dave

Alright, i took out the drivers, and took a few pictures of what i seen.
http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/5678/img0309du.jpg was connected to the 2nd smallest driver http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/8906/img0310v.jpg was connected to the smallest driver http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/3391/img0311mm.jpg was what they were connected to. and the other 2 drivers, had nothing attached to their wires. Also, would you recommend upgrading to a higher gauge speaker wire ? Thanks alot! |

You should find a radial cap inside the shrink wrap, can't tell anything else from the photo, and I don't think wire gauge is a problem
