Default Crossovers..

Dont know if this is the right place to post this, but here it goes.

My friend recently upgraded his HT and gave me his old floor standing sony speakers(yea i know they were free tho) the model is Sony SS F6000 it has them listed as a 4 way speake, however they do not have a crossover, and i have been trying to find a 4 way crossover, but can only seem to find 2 or 3 ways, would a 3 way work? or is there a way to make a 4 way crossover ?

Anyway thanks for anyhelp! i'm about 2 days new into speakers so please excuse my ignorance.

It is very unlikely they don't have an XO. Pictures?

Looks like it is probably a 3.5-way speaker.

There is likely a minimum of 1 inductor & 2 caps in the crossover. You'll need to pop the drivers out and look inside.

Alright, i took out the drivers, and took a few pictures of what i seen.
http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/5678/img0309du.jpg was connected to the 2nd smallest driver

http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/8906/img0310v.jpg was connected to the smallest driver

http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/3391/img0311mm.jpg was what they were connected to.

and the other 2 drivers, had nothing attached to their wires. Also, would you recommend upgrading to a higher gauge speaker wire ?

Thanks alot!

You should find a radial cap inside the shrink wrap, can't tell anything else from the photo, and I don't think wire gauge is a problem

Ask/buy (for) a new factory x-over, or get a speaker system service manual with network circuit and wiring diagram.
