Who has overtaken lambdacoustics - some user tell: "The best bass I have ever heard"

on the web I find only this:

What happened to Lambda Acoustics?
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-way/39960-interest-lambda-acoustics-drivers.html
Lambda Acoustics

Currently I get about www_lambdacoustics_com this website:
AE Speakers --- Superb Quality, Unforgettable Performance, Definitely.
but completly other address and products. The old address was in Melburne. Not in Australia but in Florida.

Where I get now real successor models from lambdacoustics?

We now build all of the Lambda TD woofers. We have been doing so for about 4-5 years now since buying out the remaining stock of parts from Lambda Acoustics. Back in 2001-2002 I began doing online sales for Nick at Lambda Acoustics. When he decided he was closing the doors he asked if I wanted to buy out the remaining parts stock. I've been building the drivers in house since then.

All the same parts are being used yet. We recently added a TD6M and TD6H and shortly the TD8M and TD8H as well. All of the TD10's, 12's and 15's are still available as well as the Dipole series. Other drivers like the SB and PB series can be made as well but we don't advertise them on the website.

Awesome, are the TD6s really for sale now? They are not listed on your store webpage.

They will be going up shortly. The top plates and frames are here. T-yokes are at the plating shop now so I should have them back before the end of the week. At that time they'll go up on the site and be at the intro pricing. The TD6M's and TD6H's will both be available.

Also, John, can you fill in the shipping and returns section?

Just filled that in. Not sure why it wasn't there. Must have gotten deleted with the last online store installation.

John

Thank you very much for all the informations.
Please let me know the european distributors.

Additional I have start some months ago a thread regarded Bumper speakers (bumperindustries) about
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/mult...ew-website-through-trouble-vs-earthquake.html
This brand re-introduce their old range, but I get no reply from there. The early european distributor was Altai. There this brand is no longer available.

Perhaps you can give me advices regarded this (about the above mentioned Bumper thread).

Two weekends ago, 7 of us got together and compared the Lambda TD15M, TAD 1601, and JBL E145 woofers. They were all good and I would use anyone of them in my system, but I liked the Lambda the best. I thought it was more accurite and tighters: greater detail as well.

I am overly obsessed with the low Le of the Lambda. Thinking in tube power supply circuits, the Le = Henrys, and the lower the H the less ripple reduction you have. With the low Le of the lambda, the less ripple reduction you get. In this case the ripple is the music.

If I were not going to do horn midbass, I would do a TD15M in a vented cab. But I love horns and have the room.

Im a big fan of most AE SPeakers. I will soon buy the TD 6.5" drivers. I already own 3 TD12S, 2 TD12Ms and 1 AV15x.

Im matching the TD12M up with the QSC waveguide and BMS4550 CD. Working on crossovers as we speak. I have the Eminence 12" woofer and the FaitalPro 12" woofer, The TD12M just plays nicer up to 1500Hz.

The numbers for the TD6H haven't been published yet, but John's
preliminary data pointed at 94dB for the M and 91dB for the H.

Most soft domes should be acceptable, right? With 3-4dB of baffle
step, all I need from the tweet is about 87dB, right?

I'll take a look at the SB29...

FYI, I had Raven ribbons in the past, and liked the sound. The two
ways I'm building now will be home theater / party room speakers,
so I want a cheaper dome that will take some abuse!

AE Speakers has stated that they are also very close to releasing an 8" TD8 speaker family based upon the Lambda motor. No T/S parameters have yet been posted on their Forum site.

In an earlier '10" midbass' thread included some discussion of a lower Mms 10" cone + coil.

I am interested in studying any new 8" and 10" drivers with underhung motors and low Mms. An underhung motor provides both linear BL vs. Xmax and the short, light weight voice coil required for good transient response and high SPL/watt. Naturally, a light short coil will have the 60-100watt maximum power associated with a midbass. Radial NdFeB motors look optimum, especially for dipoles where rear motor obstructions are detrimental.

Something very interesting in those Xmax tests and HD/IMD numbers.

In the driver vault HD data the Lambda underhung TD15LO shows lower 2nd and 3rd harmonic distortion than the well over hung TD15X, but higher 4th and 5th harmonic distortion, which I suspect is because of the long break-in required on the TD15LO stiffer pleated paper surround when compared to soft foam surround on the TD15X.

A well designed radial arc NdFeB underhung motor can provide both higher and more even fields than the ferrite magnet motor on the TD15LO.

I'm waiting to see what range of 8" speakers AES Lambda will offer, and if they offer any new lighter cones for the 10". I have TD10Dipoles as my midbass up to 1,500Hz, but they are designed as low sensitivity bass woofers and lose details over 800Hz to my ears when compared with the Tang Band W8-1808 without whizzer.

That 12M with the QSC/BMS should kick but. Here is are pix of the speakers we played with. I have decided that I will use the same ported cabinet and horn as in the pix. I have the horn parts, just need to make the cabs. These are the Lambda TD15X. They go way low with no need for a sub. They cross to the horn at 700hz or so.
