Hello friends,

I have 2xFE127E and 2xW69-1042M laying around for some time.

My idea is to build 2 way speakers form these drivers. W69-1042M will be in bass reflex enclosure alone and on top of it will be Fostex in closed box.

I intend to use active crossover 4th order 24db at 160Hz. Amplifier for sub-woofer will be Sure 2x100w TP2050 and T-amp 2020 for Fostex drivers.

I am still in process of planning.

What do you think about this? Is it generally good idea to combine FE127E and woofer in such way?

Thanks for help,
Regards

I listen to a two way with fostex 108 and a 12" woofer, x-over at 300hz. First order electrical resulting in a 3rd order acoustic roll off. Sounds great! However it does lose some coherence and the dynamics start to compress if the volume is turned up too loud. I'm going to try a higher order active crossover here some time soon. So just a word of warning, the fostex drivers sound great, but they certainly don't have much in the way of usable excursion. Best to plug some numbers and see at what volume xmax will be reached.
As an aside I also crossed over where baffle step compensation was needed, this certainly simplified the crossover....

Thanks for help,

I do some preliminary drawings and calculations. I am going active so it will be easy to make some fine adjustments, but this is how it looks for now.

Any advice is helpfull in this phase.

Thanks
