Hi. I am planning to build a pair of surround but would like to use 1 driver only. I noticed that some ribbon tweeter has a huge frequency range. I wonder if I can put the ribbon sideways so I can achieve a better horizontal dispersion and a good frequency range?

Ribbons have a fairly OK dispersion. My emits I can hear almost in a 45 degree angle directly form them, and of course anywhere in the room cos its starts bouncing off the furniture and walls and soon enough its a echoed and reflected mess.
Horizontal ribbon is OK too though, cos they put them in nearly every angle in the cars that had em. neeldess to say, I dont think the smear from a speaker ever lost a car sale. Cool. Srinath. |
