Default Built a box to small

Vas was supposed to be 1.094 cu ft, I built .55 cu ft. I am not a sound guru, so I require very basic responses. My main question is what effect does this have? My perception is not enough low freq. Is this a result of building my box to small? What can be done to limit the negative effect of under sizing the box? Thanks for any input into what may be seen as another annoying novice post.

You don't say the basics. What is your driver? Maybe we can help. Is like saying you have a car but is not a Ferrari, what's wrong with it's engine.

No problem mate.
Imperial or metric? (I can't see your country) I see it's Imperial, ok.
Please describe the box you already have. (Dimensions int. or ext., Material Thickness, Ports if any)
Maybe this can help as a first approach to the problem

I put a 12 inch replacement woofer in a box that was just under 2 cuft. That speaker was ideally designed to go into a 3.2 cuft box. Its calculated response in my box is 38-39 hz, but in its perfect box it would be closer to 28 hz.
That only is where there is a 10 db drop from its curve plateau if I understand. So it will play less loud at the location near the lowest freq. That's it. Also I thinnk the vent for a large box is smaller I believe.
Cool.
Srinath.

Yes, the box is too small. It is a closed box, correct?
Not much to do other than make the box bigger.

If I built a stand for these speakers, and opened the box into the stand would that work?

You aren't going to get much more bass out of that woofer in a sealed box. Stuffing it or making it aperiodic can lower the Q.
