Hello all!

In the latest Klang+Ton, a German DIY magazine, there is dipole speaker with an M-dipole. This is how something like this looks like:
Dipol-Bass mit Visaton W 250 für FAST Systeme, Lautsprecher - HIFI-FORUM
It is 38x38x76 cm, drivers are two Peerless SLS 12. It runs from 30 Hz to 200 Hz without correction, just a 12 dB lowpass filter and without sensitivity loss.

My question:
Why is the usual dipole bass two pro drivers on a flat baffle with EQ and a 1000 W amp?

That Visaton thing does have dipole correction and EQ:

It says there is dipole EQ compensation below 200 Hz and EQ to kill the peak at 400 Hz, in addition to a 300 Hz low-pass.

I haven't read that Klang+Ton article though, but it will be a surprise to see a dipole sub without any EQ! :)
