Hi everyone.
I have a blown KEF B200 SP1022 driver that I'm basically having a good poke about with for educational purposes - I want to see first hand how a driver works, how they're constructed, etc. My suspicion is that the fault with this particular driver lies in the voice coil... but we'll see. Anyway, I've got no idea how to get the rear plate off. There's 3 screws through it, which I've removed, but it doesn't then come away freely. I'm not sure if this is just because of the magnet, or if there is something else (some kind of adhesive seal?). I'm also not sure if a metal "pin" (about 3/4" across) in the center of the plate is part of the rest of the driver assembly or part of the rear plate itself. Can anyone offer any advice on the best way to remove the backplate without causing any (further) damage to the driver? |
