OB 12cx DE10 Alpha15a

Okay first pics.


You will notice similarities to a couple of designs. Haven't finished the base plates yet, or taken measurements. But things sound promising. So far no dsp or x-over to the 12cx and a simple 2.0 claritycap to the DE10.

May I ask the purpose of the 'compression chamber' in front of the woofer? (I also saw this on the products of Emerald Physics.)

The Alpha amp is a WF 100k x-over at 100hz

As much as I could find out, the volume was approximated by a look at the original product. I took that figure and plugged it into winalpha and played with the volumes. The theory has been put out as sort of a front ported infinite rear volume sub. This in turn increases the power handling. I tried the Alpha on a simple flat mount and two different volume chambers. This seemed to work.

Looking good. Have you compared the sound of your setup with/without horns. I have similar setup that have Beta 10 and use ME10 horns with the DE10. They sound pretty darn good.
