Wink Good woofer 2-way dipole

Do you have any advice for a woofer that works well up to 2500..3000 Hz and that can be used for a 2-way dipole ?

I want to use it with a HEIL twitter.

Thanks for any response...

I'm considering a similar project. I don't know what to think when I see replacement AMT diaphragms on the same sales page as the AMT unit, though. I hope they are reliable.

You're going to have to think woofer(s) as in more than one if you want to match output passively. But if biamping, I'd try the AE dipole 15. It would help if you described your listening habits, design desires and what source electronics you have.

Thanks for the advice.

I've already assembled the crossover shown in figure number 2 in this PDF:

http://www.audioreview.it/documenti/...ER_DR_HEIL.pdf

The sound is very nice!

Even a friend advised me the "215 SIGNATURE SUPRAVOX.

What do you think?

What shall be the crossover frequency to the sub?
Is a dipole sub desired?
Wow wide will be the baffle?
What kind of amp?
Is high SPL required?

I decided to supravox.

215 SIGNATURE SUPRAVOX

Someone advised me how to do the crossover for the woofer?

How to cut?

Consider that I have already built the crossover shown in figure number 2 in this PDF: http://www.audioreview.it/documenti/...ER_DR_HEIL.pdf

Thanks for any help!

The 18 Ohm resistor is used to adapt the sensitivity of the Heil to that of the midbass driver. Usually I use the "cookbook" crossovers with the resistor before the driver, not before the crossover, but I think also in this variation a change of the resistance will change the cutoff frequency if the value of the following capacitor stays the same. The Supravox has an impedance rise towards the top end that will have to be corrected. The simple formula for that often doesn't work. You won't get around using a simulation software, measurement equipment will give further improvement. Not rocket science, however, and I think the result will be worth the effort.
