Default Chris Rogers HFA TL Upgrade?

The Hi-Fi Answers transmission lines that I have were fairly high end when I built them in the mid 70's. And I have certainly had my money's worth out of them over the years.
However, I am sure designs have moved on somewhat over the last 30 years or so. And they don't seem a good match to my little tube amps (10W max), as they are very underdamped on bass. Bass is fine on SS amps, but the treble is typically harsh.
As I have to pull the boxes apart to repair/re-cap the crossovers, I am considering options for a full rebuild.
Are there any modern designs that would suit the venerable KEF B139, B100, T27, and Coles 4001G drivers.
Or would I be better off just doing the crossover repairs and going for a whole new design/driver combination.
Thoughts anyone?

Gary

Perhaps a bit more radical idea... take the B139 and put them into one of the versions )or a variation) of the modern TL we designed. Transmission Line Speakers

Then sell the B110s, T27, and Coles (maybe keep the Coles as a supertweeter, depending on your FR choice). Get yourself a suitable FR. Do a bi-amped FAST. (a good place to start on that last term). Tubes on the top, SS on the bottom.

Thanks Dave.
I am in the midst of re-capping the crossovers, and having done one cabinet the difference is dramatic. Much happier on the tube amp now, so I guess the caps were a problem. Bass is tighter, and the rest of the range is far clearer.
I think I'll keep these as "classics" and look at a ground up build with new drivers.
