difference between mid-tweeter and tweeter, mid-woofer and woofer?

In general, we are just trying to think about drivers and where they might be used.

For example, a 3" "full-range" driver might be referred to as a "mid-tweeter" if used in a large room or if higher volumes are desired.
An 8" speaker might be referred to a mid-woofer if it has smooth response above 2K, where a classic tweeter might be able to cross over.

Bottom line, we are trying to talk about general design goals using variations of established concepts. Non of these are hard and fast rules.

The term "mid-tweeter" is not known to me
But I suppose it could be a small fullrange driver

"midwoofer vs woofer"

A woofer is usually a driver to take care of bass in a 3way, or subs
It does not do midrange well
A mid-woofer is suited fore bass and mids in a 2way speaker, or as a pure midrange in a 3way

Usually 8" and bigger are woofers, 6" and 5" are midwoofers, 4" are midrange drivers only

Thats only regarding hifi drivers, and there may be a few exceptions
