Its great to find a place where folks still appreciate the AMTs, and have very helpful information about them.

I am still using a pair of AMT-1bs for my main system speakers, and smaller ESS performances for surround. All I have ever had to do was refoam the AMT-1bs about 10 years ago.

I am setting up system in the basement for exercise distraction with a pair of AMT monitors that had not been used for a while. One of them now has lost the high end, but the AMT seems fine.

I clearly have a crossover problem, so the question is: Should I just troubleshoot the crossover looking for what is likely to be a bad/old cap, or should I just do a cap job on both of them. I figure if one goes, another is getting ready to go somewhere else, but since my AMT1bs are still kicking fine, the cap jobs may be overkill.

Also, does anyone have the schematic for the AMT monitors?

What could go wrong when you pull everything apart?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, a cap job is in order. I have the AMT Monitor schematic for you.

Thanks, el seven, that is great. It is what I figured would do the trick. Do you have any recommendations on what flavor of the caps would be best?

While on ESS stuff can anyone supply details of x-over for the smaller, single sided version. It was NOT a dipole and ran a bit higher I think. Thanks.
