If I want to model an existing DIY speaker cabinet that someone else has made (with an eye to making it better) what software would you sugest; Ive used WinISD in the past to model a Bass box for the car, but I don't think WinISD lets you model multiple drivers in the same box.
What do people use? |

There might be some help here:
FRD Consortium tools guide But perhaps you could elaborate on what you mean by making the existing cabinet better.

They do sound great and the drivers are in excellent condition but the bass is a little bit vague and could do with been tighter. I susspect these drivers could work better in a smaller cab so I was thinking of adding a bracing shelf to the cabs to effectivly reduce the size of the box. I was hoping using some modeling software could help me workout the optimum box size, and perhaps the crossover could do with a tweek. The cabs are 53L, 627x235x360mm (HxWxD) Made of 12mm laminated Ply, no vents louvered baffle. The drivers are both Vifa; Main = M21WG-09 8ohm, Tweet = D26TF-05 6ohm, the X-Over is from the HB1. Try Unibox then.
Remember that enclosures must be designed for the specific application - drivers, etc., and that guessing as to the reduced size is a shot in the dark. Determine the optimum volume with the software and then add wood to the interior of the enclosure per the results.
