Hello all,
I'm using 2-way MTM with 18w-8530k00 & Vifa XT25. I like it a lot but it getting old, rubber surround become brittle and I can't find a replacement. So, it's a chance to try a new one and I'm expecting a better one ![]() I want to build a new speaker using SS drivers, but not able to spend a lot of time on design anymore. My initial thought is to try either Tony's or Zaph's design. My listening room is pretty small, dimension is only 3 x 3.5 x 2.8m. Power amp is McCormack DNA 0.5 (100w@8Ohm or 200w@4Ohm) I never experienced TL speakers before, so I wonder if the TL (Optimo) or BR (ZRT 2way) will be a better fit for my system ? Any comments are very welcome ! FWIW, I already have tweeters in hand (6600, 7000 and 9900), so a rediculously high price of the 7000 is not an issue ![]() Also like to try Troels's Ekta but ss mid 12m is so expensive and it probably too big for my room. In the mean time (you make a new pair of speakers) maybe you can ask new ones here and DIYGood Hifi's speaker rings - foam, rubber and fabric for more than 3000 speakers. |

I'm not a big fan of BR, but the Optimo is not an optimal TL, so i would choose neither. the idea of the Optimo is good, the TL just needs to be properly configured.
