what is better? and when?

I got replay "2447 eliminates the throat and places the phase plug AT the horn mouth IIRC. Supposed to lower distortion and improve HF directivity"..

Is the 2450's throat removable?
If so - will 2450 whithout throat the same as 2451 and usable with 1.5" horn?
