I was just thinking about advantages of 4 layer voice coils.
In pro audio normally 2 layer aluminum voice coils are used to reduce weight. If a 3" 2 layer aluminum voice coil speaker will hv 99 db spl level. Then considering all other items/factors same, then 2" 4 layer copper voice coil will also hv same spl 99 db. But the .qts will be low & BL will be high for 4 layer voice 2" voice coil. Total weight will be little high for 2" 4 layer say 10%. which will perform better for midbass application. |

The 3" 2 layer will get rid of heat far quicker - the extra area would mean overheating is much more difficult.

To reduce the the heat we can put copper ring on T yoke.So heat effect will be taken care of. The Le also will be reduced to get better high frequency response. |
