Default Bidding for 2nd Hand Active X-over in Australia

Those who are looking for 2nd hand active x-overs can now place bid(s) at Graysonline. The auction is for second hand professional equipment ranging from active x-over to outdoor speakers, amplifiers and much much more. The active x-overs include digital as well as analog.

Analog x-overs are from Rane and Digital from DBXDrive rack. Those interested can now switch over to this site:

Audio Visual Equipment- Vic Pick Up

Scroll down to find the equipment you are interested in.

BTW I am not connected to the supplier of professional equipment or Graysonline.

Happy bidding if you decide to do so.

The Ranes are decent units; analogue LR24 units.
The dbx are a sort of DCX2496, but without digital in.

Depends what you want really and the condition of the units and whether they have been used in touring rigs or fixed install and how much you're willing to risk for either.

Only built by DBX, not Behringer, so they're not complete junk. I never will understand the love Behringer gets around here. Maybe if it's used at home, and never moved, it doesn't fall apart.

What a load of rubbish. I have 3 of the DCX and they are very good; it's the analogue stages that limit them and that is easily remedied and they are nowhere near that fragile in my experience of using them.

The lack of a digital in would ensure that they were never even considered for use in my system. Besides on average I can get the DCX for 1/3 the cost and the dbx is not 3x better.

Up until a year ago I owned and ran my own PA systems, so I do have a fair idea of the abuse they can suffer at the hands of users in transport and use.

I suppose everyone has an anecdote or two. So far as Behringer go, mine are all negative, but I'll grant that none of them directly involve a DCX.

I wrote up a rant to follow this, but it doesn't belong in this thread. All I meant to say was that given the choice between second hand DBX gear and a Behringer, I'd choose DBX.

Some users of digital Xovers believe that the DCX is much easier and flexible to use than DBX but I think the DBX sounds better and more expensive too, more than twice the price.

Brett, what's your recommendation for modding the output stages? I'd do digital in to balanced xlr out.

And where's the best place to get them in Aus?

Going by the prices already reached; the huge 13.5% buyers premium and the cost of picking up I personally would rather buy a new Behringer locally.

I have and use both the 2 & 3 way analogue XOs and have had few problems, and at the usual sale price the performance price ratio is great.

I'm using Lundahl 1674 transformers as I had them to hand already. Control Devices are the Oz distributor and excellent to deal with.

I've been a patient and persistent hunter of deals, so no specific recommendations. I also got given my third one.
