Default Adding extra wire to existing coil

Hi all, another almost dumb query.

I need some high value inductors for my rebuild of my party speakers, going passive rather than active.

I have some laminate core inductors from local firm Jaycar here and I want to raise inductance from 5.6mH to as high as possible but also as cheaply as possible.

I have purchased 2 small rolls of 1.25mm wire from the Geelong Jaycar store, 100 grams each.
There is no point in calculating possible improvement, I'll wind and then measure; BUT : what is the best way to join the 2 lengths of wire together given that they are of 2 different diameters?? 1mm>2 // 1.25mm>2

Personally I'd take avantage of the varying dia. and butt them up end to end. It won't be easy but it certainly gives you the best shot at a clean joint, and a resulting smooth winding.

Dont connect them
Take them out, and connect them after winding

Gives you more options
I made this toroid that way, and have a cap/res(zobel) mounted on connecting midpoint
