Sibilance and "roughness" are not anywhere near 15khz. Sibilance is around 7khz. Even with 6dB slopes I have my doubts that the Raven is the problem. Do you have any measurements showing what the actual level and slope of the Raven is?
What driver is crossed to the Raven? My money is on it being the culprit. |

AN 15" response
In a dipole, ofcourse it sounds thin Nothing to do with your Raven I would change those crappy crossovers, and try 6db or 12db And maybe a small inductor on AN15 |

You're using a 15" woofer with a wizzer cone up to 15khz and you think it is the Raven causing the problem?
I'll never understand the fullrange crowd... |

Auger, all your negativity! The AN doesn't sound like a typical full range wizzer for some reason. It is really very well balanced on top and even has a very sweet sound. I've been listening to it for 4 months before I started experimenting.

No doubt, an old style "romantic" sounding tubeamp will be a good choise
And the higher output impedance would be welcome too |

Discussions such as this are entirely more b.s. than I can really handle.
You are talking about a whizzer coned driver that has untold amounts of undamped to partially damped resonances, and probably a hard calendered cone. The whizzer itself is a resonator, that is impossible to damp properly, as is its edge, and you are concerned with the "sound" of a capacitor! Do yourself a favor, use a bipolar electro and save yourself a lot of money, They may make Bartok lack focus, and make Led zeppelin sound strained, but they do wonders in lowering the bovine excreta index. rcw. |

Yet another funny post
Well, apart from that I suggest you deal with the steep bump above 10khz Your need a controlled and smoother more shallow rolloff Seems to me like theres no way around a crossover on the AN15 |
