on the positive side, the jbl 2225h would be good for a DJ system, the usual approach would be to put this driver in a vented cab and combine it with a compression driver/horn above 1200Hz

just for the hell of it, if you're desparate you could connect the small speakers, say a 4 ohm in series with an 8 ohm, and parallel the two pairs, which will give you 6 ohms.
You will still need a crossover for these drivers, I'd use 3rd order. use the tweeter section from this calculator: Crossover Design Calculators I doubt that it will sound great though...

Well I'm gonna give you advice that noboddy on here might like. That is now if you get my post in time, as my posts are still under moduration that seems to be forever
![]() Use the JBL's in a 50 to 80 liter vented box each. I would go for bigger and tuned to around 50 to 55 Hz. X over at the recomended 1200 Hz to the 6X9's. Connect 2 x (6x9's) in series to give 8 ohms, and lastly connect a good piezo or two to cover the high's. Take note, piezo's are not great, but if you are on a budget, and in a hurry, it could save the day. Piezo's don't require x-overs, but I would still add a x-over to limit the 6x9 to 3500 Hz. This solution is not great, but imo the best that you can do with a limited budget. To get a compression driver that can X at 1200Hz is going to cost you a arm and a leg, and propper PA mids with a cheaper compression driver won't come cheap either. |
