Damaged tweeter?

Good evening to all,

I have been given a pair of Mordaunt Short 25I a few days ago. This is average stuff but not that bad apart from the lack of bass. They hve metal dome tweeters and boith domes have been pushed in. They still work though, does it mean they work but do not sound as they should? Is it worth replacing them?

You mean fixing the dome? Or replacing the tweeter? I would know how to change the tweeter but not to repair a dome hmmmmm ok I'll have a look then...

This is more of a woofer dustcap solution, but could still be applicable here.

The idea is this - put a hoover over the tweeter. Switch it on, then off (preferably quickly so it's not damaged) then see how it's done. I've tested this on woofers, but not yet tweeters (I've got some I can go test with though, fabric domes..........)

Well I thought about that and it is a metaldome tweeter... I checked on a few forums and it seems not easy to clear up. I found someone who can sell these tweeters for cheap I think I'll go down that route then.
