Tweeter for a Dynaudio 17-W75

Greetings All,
Any ideas what tweeter would be a good match for a Dynaudio 17W-75? I'm trying to keep the cost between $25 and $50 per tweeter. I'm not really even sure what to look for: same impedance, overlap in the frequency response...??? This is my first shot at starting from scratch on a speaker build. I got the Dynaudios for a very good price at an estate sale, so that's why I'm looking to use this particular driver.
Here's some info on the 17W-75. It includes a suggested enclosure size, so I'll probably go with that... Yes, no, maybe?

I would suggest either a Dynaudio or a Morel tweeter. Both of these manufactures have tweeters with the hexatech voice coils, the same type of voice coil that your 17Ws have. They have power handling to keep up and the sonic signatures that are a good matck.

My vote is for a Morel (MDT30), Vifa or Seas. The real question is what xover frequency and filter order?? I did a 2-way with an 8" Audax and a 1" Seas. XO was 2nd order for both at 1800 Hz. Sounded really good. Stick with fabric (soft) dome tweeters. Metal can be harsh.

Coupla more things.......
Pick a tweeter with about the same or bit more sensitivity than the woofer.
Here is what I learned from my first 2-way.
1st order filters, with their 15 degree tilt, are not my cup of tea. I then tried 2nd order. That was fine but I had to attenuate the tweeter some to get the sound balanced. I added a zobel to the woofer and it eliminated the hole in the response around the XO frequency. I choose 1800 Hz because it was as low as I dared XO the Seas tweeter. An 8" is a bit large to a 2-way and I wanted to get the tweeter active as soon as possible. Took me 1 year of tweeking to get it to sound OK and measure OK. Plus I replaced the original woofer (Pioneer) because it sucked. The Audax was much, much better but double the cost. Sometimes you get what you pay for.
You might consider paying to have Madisound do the XO design and buy the tweeters from them.

I used a dynaudio D21AF and achieved some amazing results by ignoring some x-over rules. For instance, I used a first order at 1800hz. A properly implemented first order is always more complicated than it would seem at first glance. The dispersion characteristics are similarily wide which is why I think they are imaging monsters.
These come up as used occaisionally and you can get them repaired through Madisound.

I would personally go for a larger tweeter dome; an Audax 34mm textile dome, without ferrofluid, would be my choice. Can be crossed at 2 to 2.5kHz and sounds very smooth yet detailed.

To avoid beaming of the 17 cm driver a cross-over < 2000 Hz is required. For this you need atleast a capable 25 mm dome tweeter from Seas/Vifa or maybe a 28 mm dome from Morel or Scanspeak.

For your budget my pick would be a Vifa XT25BG60-04 (the improved one) or a Vifa DX25 (if you can still get one). 2nd order electrical xo will achieve 4e LR acoustical, just what you need in your application.
