Default Speakers for Bi-Amp Set-up

Hello There,

I'm planning to have a Bi-amp set up with Quicksilver Line Pre, Behringer CX-3400(Elec Xover) and Parasound 1206(into 4 Ch). Wish to do it with a pair of bookshelf speakers(space constrain) preferably 2 way with an 8" driver. Of course I will do it with the built-in Xover disconnected. May somebody recommend me some speakers that are good for this type of application? 3 way big bookshelves or small floodstanding may also be considered. Tks.

You are asking for a recommendation for a commercial 2-way bookshelf loudspeaker on a DIY forum? How about a set of Paradigms? Nothing they make is awful. Or was that the point: to find something awful that you could easily improve upon?

My current favorite drivers (on paper, for the money): Peerless 830884 and Seas 27TBFCG.

Are the Paradigms using those drivers? Are they 8ohm? Para+Para sounds good. I'm not worry about power cause my Parasound delivers quite alot and driving the drivers directly is more than enough. My only concern is the impedence cause the manual says 8ohm is prefered. Will checkout drivers from SEAS and Peerless. BTW are they for ported enclosure or sealed?
