I have two Audax HP130Z2 midrange units which have been discussed in this Forum and tested apparently by Zaph Audio . They have a tested Fs of 156hz.
I also have a recently acquired Rotel sound processing preamp which has a sub woofer out setup which rolls off at 150hz. My intention is to use three amps ,two for left-right mid and upper freq and one for the sub. I should also disclose that the sub out on the preamp can be set at 50hz,150hz or FLAT. The flat setting I assume is for FULL RANGE. I plan to end up with three boxes ,two small and one much larger tuned to 35hz. My question is will the natural rolloff of the Audax unit be low enough to make this work??? |

I would say go with it (even if difficult, I don't know). You can always use the 150Hz filter or Flat for your tests also depending on woofer. You will have an inductor I guess for the mids and passive xover for tweeters. The Fs (mids) is high, but since you have a good margin to play, (and some hardware) to make experiences and you already have them, I would test it. After all this is going to depend a lot on the (new?) woofer/sub driver merging (mid) frequencies.
