So I'm working on these threeways. I've purchased a set of piezo horns out of curiosity but don't really intend to use them as a final solution (unless they wildly exceed expectations).
What are the forum's thoughts on piezo tweeters? Also; Anyone know of a nice cheap 8 ohm tweeter at or above 90dB efficient?? I've never had much luck with cheap tweeters and can't afford expensive ones. Could use a hand.

I hope to make the TB W2-800SL 2" work
So far, from quick listen, I think it may have potential, if handled with care It might prove to be almost ideal fore MTM design, with the possible very low xo point A very low xo point might also make it much easier on the BSC matter But it will take some time before I know it better Last edited by tinitus; 2nd November 2009 at 11:31 PM. |

The LAST good (piezo) tweeter was the one Wayne P. used in his PI Speakers before changing it to the Vifas and having it available as an upgrade kit for some time. Now the trend is the ribbons. There are many very good (cheap) dome tweeters, as you go read from previous posts.
![]() (As an (1) example of a tweeter, depending of your application, there is this "K1 Hi-end Tweeter" for a very reasonable price) Product information:K1 Hi-end Tweeter Hi-Vi K1 1" Fabric Dome Tweeter, 116 mm Flange from Madisound |
