Default My Audax - Cleveland 3-way project

hi all

i concluded my Audax-Cleveland 3 way speaker project today.

The Vega Cleveland line is not very well known amongst contemporary DIYers , since this brand was sold to Audax in the sixties , and in the mid seventies Audax stopped to make loudspeakers, using Alnico. These speakers are regarded as the finest ever produced, like the Audax Medomex 15 :

OlimpiaAudio_Cleveland

La linea Cleveland comprendeva altoparlanti di eccezionale qualità, tra questi il miglior midrange di tutti i tempi, il mitico MEDOMEX 15

translated :

The Cleveland line included loudspeakers of exceptional quality, amongst them the best midrange of all times, the mythical MEDOMEX 15.

My dad got a Woofex34 bass on hands in the mid seventies, and after he sold it, he came never again on hand of a pair. He said he never found again a woofer with such exceptional qualities.
These are in fact very rare, and i found only a couple offered at ebay france in 3 years. I was lucky enough to find a pair of Woofex34 and Medomex 15 , at a bargain price at ebay france, and bought them.
Since i have already my main system built up, i thought to make a pair of speakers with them, and employ them as surrounds.

I don't know if i still will do that. These speakers sound too good, so it would be a waste to use them that way.
