Hi guys,
Some time ago I developed a small speaker for a family member. Maybe some of you are looking for such a speaker... ![]() During the developement I decided to build 2 versions: One version that can play quite loud, and a version with a flat response and a directivity control as good as possible. I have to split the postings due to the fact that I can just upload 10 pics max. |

![]() Crossover for project 1: ![]() Crossover for project 2: ![]() I removed the diffusor at the tweeter(just cliped), because without, the directional behaviour is much better. The helmholtz resonance from the diffusor in the high frequency range also disapeared... ![]() Difference with and without diffusor: ![]() I also made an Excursion over Frequency measurement from the project 2 speaker. I used a very good and light(0.7g) PCB accelerometer and fixed it directly at the cone: ![]() Around 970Hz you see a spider resonance: Imageshack - spiderproblem Suround Resonance around 1500Hz: Imageshack - surroundproblem Two tone test: Imageshack - twotone2 These small speakers do really sound well due to their size. Of course bass is limited, but with a small woofer you receive a great small and cheap system. Have a nice day, QAE Last edited by QAE; 30th October 2009 at 03:41 PM. |
