Default Mini Project with Tangband W3-1723

Hi guys,

Some time ago I developed a small speaker for a family member.
Maybe some of you are looking for such a speaker...

During the developement I decided to build 2 versions: One version that can play quite loud, and a version with a flat response and a directivity control as good as possible.

I have to split the postings due to the fact that I can just upload 10 pics max.

Crossover for project 2:

I removed the diffusor at the tweeter(just cliped), because without, the directional behaviour is much better. The helmholtz resonance from the diffusor in the high frequency range also disapeared...

Difference with and without diffusor:

I also made an Excursion over Frequency measurement from the project 2 speaker. I used a very good and light(0.7g) PCB accelerometer and fixed it directly at the cone:

Around 970Hz you see a spider resonance:
Imageshack - spiderproblem

Suround Resonance around 1500Hz:

Two tone test:
Imageshack - twotone2

These small speakers do really sound well due to their size. Of course bass is limited, but with a small woofer you receive a great small and cheap system.

Have a nice day,

QAE
