2 X USED FLOOR STANDING STEREO SPEAKERS - 25 YEARS OLD - eBay, Speakers, Subwoofers, Audio, Electronics. (end time 01-Nov-09 12:50:10 AEDST)
If these are the 12inch Coral they may be worth looking at, NOT for me tho, that does look like the Foster super tweeter though

That silver high frequency driver looks like something Radio Shack used to sell a while back, in its own little top-mount enclosure. I wonder if it is?
edit: This thingy! Having found a picture of it, it really looks to be the same driver. Is that the same thing as the Foster tweeter you were talking about Moondog? I miss the days of the old Realistic drivers from Radio Shack here in Canada. I had an old poly-cone 8 inch driver I purchased new in the early 90's, for my first quest into speaker building. And a paper cone tweeter also from Realistic. Fun stuff! I remember thinking the grey polypropylene looked so high-tech! Last edited by J.R.Freeman; 26th October 2009 at 08:30 PM. |

Not many have used white cones
But they dont look like Coral to me The ones I have seen all had alu dustcap And chassis were alu silver Surround I think were more brownish I have never seen bigger than 10" Tweeter does look like Coral, but could just as well be Foster I have 2 pairs, and two in series crossed high actually sounds quite good, but one tweeter alone not so good |

Thats the one, was available as top-mount from Tandy/RS as well as OEM, but if those are the Coral/Foster/Fostex woofers then not such a low Fs but quite efficient and very nice bass.
But the missus says no new projects for me, maybe some-one needs some cheap woofers tho.

They are all Foster drivers. The tweeters alone are worth the starting bid.
The woofers are a case of looks can be deceiving... there is a similar coral 10" (i have 4 of them here), but they look like Fosters... the 1st time i saw the creme coloured ones i said Coral, until i read the back that said Foster. dave
