Default Using rubber to seal a panel in a 2 way speaker.

Hi all, after years of promising to myself I'd build some speakers I finally have it in its final stages.

Due to a lack of foresight, the only removable panel I have now is the top of the speakers.

Basically I'm wondering if there is any harm in sealing the top panel with a high density rubber foam strip as a gasket (obviously with fasteners also) to make it airtight but still make internals accessible if I ever need to? The rest of the panels simply cannot be pulled apart.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I personally use foam tape that creates an air tight seal with a modest amount of pressure. I got it in bulk from an online outlet, but try a big hardware store, they may have something similar.

When the product like Tesamoll (made of foam or rubber) has a 8/10 year warranty is usually better than a 3/5 year product, more resistant.

I have access to quite a fair bit of foam tapes from work. I was just curious if there was any negative aspects to doing this assuming a firm airtight seal is made?
