They look nice, but IMO the drivers are too far apart. This makes for crossover lobing errors.

Designed by Peter Aczel, who is the publisher of Audio Critic. Back in the day he reportedly gave them a good review in his magazine and at the end disclosed that he designed them.

At one point he offered a $5000 reward for someone who could show him a speaker that "performed better" in a smaller box. I suppose if their box went deeper he could say he meant sensitivity and if theirs had higher sensitivity, he could say he meant bass extension...

Hey there,

If you have replaced surrounds before and wish to just throw generic replacement foam surrounds on them, I have a set I purchased from Parts Express about a year back in good shape. They only come in sets of 4 so I have 2 left over - oh, they are for an 8" driver by the way. If you want them, just cover shipping and they're yours.

Oh, are those Hoosier drag tires in your pic?

JR, I have replaced surrounds before, however these drivers are 10". I appreciate the offer. The drivers are going to Meniscus Audio for repair.

And yes they are Hoosier drag radials. see these links for the rest of the car.

Or he could just perform one of his expert and unbiased reviews and conclude that his "performed better".
