Default Vertical mounting Altec 511, or others?

Hi.

I've been offered an Altec 511 horn for mye speaker project, but it's too wide for me to have space for it.
Has anyone tried to use this horn mounted vertically? Like the horn on the JBL Array series.
Or has anyone tried other horns, like those big TAD wood-horns or others?

Will this work fine, or will I get extremely horizontal dispersion? We sit a lot off-axis here.

I'll greatly if anyone's got something to share.

Thanks.

Greets!

Here's its directivity plots where you can see that if vertically mounted it starts out wide and just keeps narrowing up with increasing frequency like a 'full-range' driver, which some folks prefer. There's at least one manufacturer that still uses these vintage horns vertically oriented, but can't find the link ATM. Regardless, just like with 'FR' drivers, toeing them in so that the left speaker is aimed at the far right seating position and vice versa typically works well over a fairly wide arc and you can always add a super tweeter for better HF dispersion/extension if desired.
