I have never built any speakers but put together a nice stereo a few years ago, it is a pair of vintage polk monitor 10B's, adcom gfa 5500, adcom pre/tuner, adcom cd changer, and an entry level music hall turn table. I am not at collage and do not have room for my speakers or albums, so right now i am listing to digital music on a crappy pair of computer sub/satellites. i am not a fan of ported or vented boxes but like some pr designs(like my 10's but my dad has a pair of jvc towers with 1 active 1 passive 12" and it is sloppy) I am looking to find a design that i can copy directly or do some simple modifications and have a good sounding speaker capable of playing loud. i plan to use my adcom 5500 for these so clean power is of no shortage. my ears are are ~13" above my desk and ~44" from the wall. inside of speakers will be ~22" apart (computer monitor.) I am thinking my best bet is a 3way but don't know how complicated that will be so am also looking at 2-way's with multiple woofers.
i have done a lot of reading and can not find much on small sealed speakers. Payton |

Note: A passive radiator is a substitute for a large vent, so a PR system is essentially a ported/vented system.
A pr of CHR-70 in a 12-16 litre sealed box might be suitable. dave
