I ask hime but i think its Troels very bussy man
troels say me Hi Vladimir, Sorry, not possible. First of all because of this: http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/crossovers.htm Next I would have to make a new crossover = start all over again. Every tweeter is special and requires its own crossover. I can assure you the 27TFFC is every bit as good as the XT25. best regards Troels I dont have money for new tweter and i like sound of vifa xt25tg |

It's hard to argue with what Troels has posted on that link, but I suspect that the two examples he has shown tend to be at the extremes.... If you can at least measure the tweeters impedance (or get the impedance curve from the data sheet) you could probably go some way towards making something better than a textbook crossover (at least choose component values for the impedance of the tweeter at your crossover freq)...
Having lived with three way speakers with store bought pre made (admittedly higher quality than normal) three way crossovers for probably in excess of 20 years, my 2c worth might not carry too much weight... Until I heard something really good though, I never really noticed the deficiencies too much even though they are very large! Not only do I have totally non optimized crossovers, the drivers are grossly in-appropriately matched (at least the bass and midrange) and playing way past their limits. Despite all this, they still sound a lot better than a lot of commercial speakers I've listened to, that cost a lot more So whilst you might not get a perfect speaker, and it might make a purist cringe that you haven't made them the best they can be, you will probably still be able to get something half way decent, and be happy (at least until you hear something a lot better... for me that something better cost in excess of $35,000!!) Tony. |
