Default Intermittent Woofer

Hi there,

Just picked up a pair of PSB Passif II speakers, foam on the passive radiator needs replacing, not too big a deal. A suggestion on where to get the replacement foam might help though.

Where there is a bigger issue is in one of the woofers. On one speaker I noticed that one woofer wasn't working. I took it out of the enclosure, hooked it up directly to an amp. I got it working when I jostled the wires going to the voice coil.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Resolder the wires to the terminals.

I tried putting the wire from the amp directly on the wire (bypassing the outside solder connection) I have a feeling that the loose connection might be on the inside of the woofer....any idea's if that is the case?

Could be the wire has cracked inside the woofer itself.
It could be resoldered if you can get to it.

Never done that before, is it a matter of cutting off the dust cap and getting right into the middle of it?

If the coil has broken then its probably best to get a recone kit or just replace the driver.
