Default Crossover Order

Hello,

Would like to get some pointers/information on how you choose the crossover order, whether it be 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th order for drivers. What factors determine the order you would use for a driver.

It's pretty much the driver choice that determines that.

For one, if there are any breakup nodes in the response...you'd want a steeper slope to avoid those, depending on your Xover point.

yes, out of band response will determine how steeply you need to roll off,
and power handling is also a factor- why most tweeters use 2nd order or above.
At the low end, if you're factoring in BSC, you may want to go for lower order slopes...
